Every single notebook or desktop or web server is run by an Operating System - the low-level software which interacts with the hardware equipment, including peripherals such as a mouse or a printer, together with any applications that are present on the system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the OS. On a server, each and every application runs within the parameters specified by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etcetera. This goes for both standard site scripts and server-side software like a media server. If a virtual server is created on a physical one, there can be two separate Operating Systems, referred to as guest OS and host OS, so that you'll be able to set up a different software environment on the very same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers

Our VPS server packages include three Linux distributions that you could select from for the Operating System of your new hosting server - Debian, Ubuntu and CentOS. Aside from being absolutely free, the OSs are really stable and safe and the reason to offer the three of them is to ensure that you will be able to run any kind of app that you'd like, because different pieces of software may have different requirements regarding the environment they work on. Each one of the three OSs is backed by a vast community of developers who have made thousands of software packages that you can install and use on your VPS. Depending on the Operating System that you choose, you will also be able to select between 3 different Control Panels to control your hosting content. Of course, if you decide that you need some other OS, we can always reinstall the server with it. As an additional upgrade, we also provide weekly updates of the Operating System for optimum stability and security.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers

In case you decide to acquire one of our dedicated servers, you shall find three Operating Systems on the registration page because we want to give you a wider choice for the system environment on your machine as different apps may have certain requirements. CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian feature different modules developed by their vast support communities, so you can select any of these OSs and benefit from a stable and risk-free web hosting service. Based on your selection, you'll also have different Control Panels to choose from. Needless to say, we can always change the Operating System in case the one you have selected initially does not meet the requirements of the software that you would like to run. We can also update the OS regularly to keep it as secure as possible with our Managed Services upgrade package.
